Almost There!!

It's been three weeks into my internship and I have learned and seen so much!! This experience is showing me how many steps and how much effort it takes to own an interior design business: paperwork everywhere, filing, phone calls, faxing, running errands, multitasking, and meeting deadlines everyday several times a day. Whew!!

Jane and I have done a lot in the past two weeks: To sum it up, I have -

* Completed forms for vendors to request samples & a line of credit
* Set-up and installed several software products on desktop and laptop computers
* Helped rearrange office furniture
* Created a lead list on the franchise web-based system
* Organized office supplies
* Set-up phone & fax lines
* Created a new filing system for all the paperwork
* Received packages
* Prepared printed vendor catalogs for binding
* Faxed 40 vendors tax exempt forms to receive vendor materials & samples
* Assembled industrial strength carts for vendor samples.
* Received personalized tours of Lamar, Jeffery O. Moyer Family Dentistry, Lamar Methodist Church, Barton County Public Library (all of which Jane has been involved with the design process) and Maco Creations (a custom cabinet and counter top company).

Whew!! It's been fun though!! Jane is great to work with and I love her enthusiasm and dedication to interior design.

On Monday, Lacey will begin interning with Jane too and we are expecting mountains of vendor materials and samples. Can't wait!!
